AGORA,The Flea Market in Nagpur- THE XMAS EDITION

Posted on

P.S. Been procrastinating on this post for days now, for, the blog's Logo and the Website were on a revamp. Let me know in the comments below what you think of the Now-New Avatar.

“And the Fourth has us vying for the next”, blogged HERE. Well, the next, i.e., the 5th Edition, followed soon enough. For when you want something real bad then ‘poori kayanaat’…Nah! Don’t thank the stars, the one to thank for the ‘Shop-Eat-Celebrate’ frenzy that has gripped Nagpur is one Star already! Apeksha Kongovi Munde, the progenitress of AGORA, the first and the only Flea Market in Nagpur. Praise to the passionate hands that have steered the flea and charioted it straight into our hearts; a one that has galloped forth as the much-awaited event in town. AGORA in a short span has received the love and accolades it rightfully deserves.

Tailored and well-nurtured since its inception in March 2015, AGORA has flourished edition after edition. Every edition, a depart from the previous with the only constant – the soul of AGORA. The Eventful Flea has dished out a plethora of flavours. Be it the Valentine Edition, the Diwali, or the now Xmas, which leaves one in anticipation of a zealous “What, When Next?!”

Reintroducing AGORA, a one that obviously needs no introduction in its opulent Fifth Edition. With the sole exception that, the celebrations at this Edition continued a day longer. (Check out my rendition of the previous Diwali Edition HERE, if you haven’t already.)

THE FIFTH EDITION:
Held on the 17th and 18th of December 2016 at SCZCC, Civil Lines and tagged ‘The Xmas Edition’, it was here the Nagpurians were soaked in the holiday spirit days before the actual one. A two-day affair, AGORA was at its maddening best with 54 Flea Stalls, 20 feet Xmas Tree, 15 Food Stalls, 10 Live Performances, Photo Booth, Tarot Card reading, Contests, Kids Zone, Santa House, Frenzy-the Gnome, and more…gasp.

Day 1 was more the Flea-Exhibit-Retail affair! Create-your-own fragrance by AL-ASRA PERFUMES was one fascinating flea. Gleeful spirited faces spoiling themselves dopey and having a merry time was the common sight. The happy-idyllic affair made for a picturesque Day One.

Day 2 was more the Carnival-Festival-Recreation affair! Live entertainment in collaboration with THE DREAM CATCHERS, NAGPUR– featuring Open Mic Contest, Mime Artists, performances by JAPESTERS, GROOVE TANTRIKS, NAGPUR UNPLUGGED, Stand-Up Comedy by JITESH VASANI, was one extravagant occurrence. Food Stalls all the way from Bangalore – SPICE RUSH and Delhi – CHORA CHORI, satiated our taste buds. ‘Mocktails’ by THE CHAI TAPRI, ‘Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon and Whipped Cream’ by THE OVEN STORY, ‘Teriyaki Rice Bowls, French Crepes’ by WHERE’S MY BUTTER, ‘Flavoured Maggi’ by RAINBOW, ‘Sandwiches’ by PANINO THE SANDWICH WORLD were relished while we gazed at the stage. The lively crowd couldn’t contain their serotonin level and were seen grooving till the wee hours standing right below the suspended lit-up Dream Catchers, true to the name. The crowd also enacted the stupefied Mannequin Challenge. All in all, one pronounced weekend to remember!

AGORA in town is invariably One-Holiday-Affair! Will I be surprised if Nagpur-the Orange City is labelled ‘The Agora City’? I think not! Such is the soaring popularity of AGORA; people outside of the city are also raving about the flea.

AGORA, undeniably, was our Santa this holiday season!

Let there be AGORA!

 THE LOOK/STYLING:

I had dressed up ‘Quirky Casuals’ during last AGORA (see HERE); no-brainer that I decided to dress up fun these two days as well. Day 1 was all about exhibits, and I dressed up BOHO CHIC. Day 2 had more to do with the Carnival fervor, so I dressed up as one would to Music Festival-EDGY, METALLIC with a tad of GRUNGE.

STYLING: DAY 1 (The Flea Exhibit):

The Monochrome – BOHO CHIC:

I like serving up concoctions. If ‘the Goddess Neckpiece’ and ‘the Side Bun Hair’ sounded Boho then ‘the wide-legged striped(big this Spring 2017) trousers’, ‘oversized green jacket’,and ‘the red mouth’ played up chic. The ‘boxy black bag’, ‘black wedges’ contributed to the monochrome brood. Broke the all-black with pops of red and spirited green.

OUTFIT DETAILS: DAY 1:

Top and Bottoms: SR STORE  /  Jacket: PROMOD  /  Bag: CHARLES N KEITH  /  Neckpiece: ‘Goddess Neckpiece’ Insta@KIWI BY MUSSKAN  /  Wedges: INC.5  /  On My Lips: MAC ‘Ruby Woo’

STYLING: DAY 2 (The Carnival Fervor):

The Festival – EDGY, METALLIC, GRUNGE:

I showed up Festival for I fused gold and silver. Gold of the bag, the jacket zipper and choker with the silver of the jeans, kicks and lips(silvered bluish grey). The lips played up the Grunge whereas the thigh-high distressed jeans Edgy. High ponytail finished off the look. I ditched the choker to the venue, though.

OUTFIT DETAILS: DAY 2:

Denim: GUESS  /  Jacket: VERO MODA  /  Bag: FURLA  /  Choker: PIPABELLA  /  Kicks: KOOVS  /  On My Lips: NYX Suede Lipstick in ‘Stone Fox’
